Taylor, Cora Bliss 1889-1986All Saints Episcopal Church

from Cora Bliss Taylor "Cody's World" exhibit, Aug 2019 at the OSH All Saints’ Church c.1960s | Pastel crayon Creator: Cora Bliss Taylor This example, which at first glance looks like a woodcut print, is actually a pastel crayon drawing using the texture of the medium for expressive effect. The pastel makes for a painterly abstract composition. The absence of clear lines heightens the abstraction and the illusion of depth is merely implied. When viewed from a distance the drawing appears less abstract and the subject, All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Saugatuck, is more recognizable.
