Camp Grey was established in year by Reverend George Gray as the Forward Movement Park. The purpose of the park to provide rest and relief to mothers and children who lived in Chicago's poorer neighborhood. A week of fresh air and healthful activities was thought to enrich health-- both physical and spiritual. At its height, the camp included X acres of dunes and woods with multiple camps. After legal wrangling the Camp was sold and redeveloped into luxury homes in year.
